after you have sex should you flush the condom down the toilet? why or why not

Condom Man says:

Well the thing about that, my friend, is that it's a bit unhygienic. When you flush that condom down the toilet, besides the possibility of clogging your pipes, that water goes into our local sewer system and possibly out to the ocean or something of that nature. I'm not a big fan of finding condoms in the ocean while I'm swimming, which is why I recommend against it. The best thing to do is wrap the condom securely in a tissue and throw it in the garbage. Thanks for the question -

My old sex ed teacher said that the person allergic to latex has sheepskin condoms and then the latex goes either under or over (depending on whom has the allergy) that. I know that two latex condoms have a greater chance of breaking, but does this mean that a latex and a sheepskin will also have a greater chance of breaking?

Condom Man says:

If your old sex ed teacher told you to use two condoms at once, they're the worst teacher EVER. you should never use two condoms at once. the chance of those breaking / tearing / causing irritation is very high. Polyurethane condoms are seen today as the best way to have safe sex if you have a latex allergy. Please keep in mind however that these condoms are not as effective as latex condoms in preventing std's. However, pretty much anything is better than wearing two condoms at once.

Could leaving condoms in a hot car make it so that they can leak?

Condom Man says:

yes I would not recommend keeping condoms in your car. during the summer temperatures can get pretty hot in your car and storing condoms in that temperature for an extended period of time will damage the latex. same reason why you don't want to keep your condom in your wallet for a long time. so, if you think you're going to get lucky THAT NIGHT, keeping your glove in the glove compartment is OK, but don't keep it in there for weeks on end.

does non latex protect against std?

Condom Man says:

Hi Cecil, a great question. Non latex condoms do not protect as well against STDs as latex condoms. As such, if you can use latex condoms, you should. Non-latex condoms should only be used by those who have allergic reactions to latex.
