Hey condomman your my hero :D
What do you think are the best condoms out there?
Or do they all protect the same? |
Condom Man says:
Hi Stephani, thanks! :D There's no one "best" condom. The reason is because each couple is different. Essentially, any condom that you see on our site, or at an established retailer, will be safe to use and as effective as any other, more or less. (The only exception to this would be non-latex or lambskin condoms, which are slightly less effective at prevention of STIs.) What makes a condom better than another is if they feel comfortable enough so that the couple remembers to wear one each time. Condom makers these days make different condoms for just about every segment of the market. Take a look at the different styles of condoms on the left hand side of our site, and pick out a style that will work for you. Try out a few different types, and go with one that you know you'll use each time. |

what are the conditions under which a condom can tear?an |
Condom Man says:
Typically there are only a few things which can create the risk of condom breakage. One is if you're not using enough lubrication - the friction caused by the condom can cause tearing. Make sure that you're ready for sexual intercourse and use plenty of condom-safe lubricant. Just as important is correctly putting the condom on. Make sure that you are using an unexpired condom from a name-brand company, and make sure to read our tips on how to put a condom on correctly. However, keep in mind it's also about being ready for sex. If you are nervous or uncomfortable, you can be tensing up during sex, and this causes friction from lack of lubrication and potential breakage. |

Does the HIV virus die after contact with the air? |
Condom Man says:
Air does not "kill" HIV, but exposure to air dries the fluid that contains the virus, and that will destroy or break up much of the virus very quickly. The CDC reports that drying HIV reduces viral amount by 90-99% within several hours.
However to ensure safe sex and prevention of HIV, use protection at all times during any form of intercourse. HIV travels through bodily fluids, so it pays to put the condom on early before any sexual contact. |
